Presentation
The Endovascular Surgery Chapter of the Angiology and Vascular Surgery Spanish Society has the motivation to continue promoting its quality scientific production as it has been a constant until today. Building upon the experience of our large Angiologists and Vascular Surgeons community in Spain, we have the pleasure to present in such a way this first book which is published with the current Board of Directors who already complete their first year. The book has been produced thanks to the important help of a wide range of authors and experts of our specialty, from different areas of Spain and even beyond the borders of our country.
Angiology and Vascular surgery has made huge advances in the field of acute and chronic venous diseases both in limbs and at abdominal-pelvic levels in the last decade. As in the arterial pathology, we think in a logical way that the treatment of these venous pathologies must be always conducted by the specialist who knows well its manifestations and clinical course, the invasive and non-invasive diagnosis, the different surgical treatments and at the same time, controls endovascular treatment, and this specialist, is the Angiologist and Vascular Surgeon.
Hence this book has the purpose to continue motivating and training our Angiology and Vascular Surgery Specialists, primarily to those in learning period, in the complex but fascinating territory of venous diseases, which is increasingly demanded by the large number of patients who not always have found until today, the possibility of receiving a newer and reliable treatment.
